Yesterday, I watched a whole lot of adults acting like children in the annual Bring Your Own Big Wheel race.

Here's one from the spectator's point of view:
And one from the participant via a helmet cam!
This Saturday, you gotta get yourself to DNA Lounge for Dirty! My buddy Kevin (aka Fine Cut Bodies) from Budapest is spinning along with Lawgiverz, Aaron Jae and a whole slew of others (who I don't actually know but am looking forward to hearing)...
Yeah, baby!
Attention all code monkeys, wannabe troubadours and lovers of intelligent and humorous indie pop: Jonathan Coulton is coming to San Francisco!
That's right, the net-hugging, Hodgman-loving, thing-a-week making soon-to-be-superstar will be playing at Cafe Du Nord on February 18th! We've got our tickets, so who else wants to go!?
I can't wait!
I'm just now getting caught up on my life after this insane January and have run across a number of good links in the process, many from Jason (who's really is still doing a bang-up job of "pro blogging") and Matt.
- Blogumentary - Chuck Olsen has been working on this movie for what seems like forever (I'm sure he'd agree) and now the entire this is up on Google video. Excellent, excellent job, Chuck!

Nothing major and no damage, but it was definitely enough of a sideways jolt to give both Stella and I a big jump. As long as they stay that size, I'm fine... Wheeee!
Looks like it was a 3.7 centered on the Hayward fault line. (map) Didjafeelit?
[Okay, not the question of the day, but my question of the day...]
Dear Voxen,

Now it all makes sense... Daylight Saving Time Yields Massive Daylight Surplus
I can tell you, with great certainty, that San Franciscans have been on the forefront of the conservation effort this year. I WANT SOME GODDAMNED SUN!!!
That was the largest earthquake I've felt in a good while. Lasted about 5 or 6 seconds. A shaker, not a roller. Not big enough for anything to fall, but absolutely big enough to make Stella very uncomfortable.
The crazy thing is, she knew it was coming. That was the first time I've ever actually experienced the phenomenon I've always heard about that animals can sense earthquakes before the "happen" (i.e. before we feel them). About ten seconds before I felt it she started woofing (not barking, but woofing) constantly. I couldn't figure out what she was going on about and looked back at my computer when wheeeeeeeee!
Crazy...
And, there it is. 4.7 on the Richter Scale, centered in Glen Ellen, CA.
