You know, there's this silly little thing about blogging where you have something big and momentous to talk about but no time to do it justice, so it sits there like plaque in a blocked aorta causing Sudden Blog Death Syndrome.
I've got two of these that I just need to get out there.
- A few weeks ago, I passed the one year mark since I joined Textura Design as the Application Architect. There's so much to say about that, but for now, I'll just say "we have built some amazingly cool shit that no one ever sees" and "although it's been terribly difficult at times, this has been one of the best years of my life professionally".
- On Nov 11th, I got married to the most wonderful person in the world. And we've got (currently) 2767 wonderful photos to prove it (the "official" ones are here) which is good because I just can't capture all of my feelings with words. Many, many, many thanks to all of you friends (especially my boys) and family who came so far to share the special moment with us. We love you all.
All in all, a pretty great year... So, there. Now I can blog again. Oh, one more thing:
- November 11th, 2005 - Our first date
-
November 11th, 2006 - I asked and she said "yes"
-
November 11th, 2007 - Good things come in threes Especially IN HAWAII!
That's right. Jenn and I are terribly excited to announce that this November 11th, we're going to make it a great three-peat by getting married in Kailua Kona, Hawaii!
After so much thrashing back and forth over the infinite possiblities, I can't tell you how great it feels to finally find something that fits us perfectly. While both of us were doting over the awesome locations and possiblities here in San Francisco, Hawaii was actually the first place we discussed given the amazing time we had their on our vacation this past year. It just seems plain natural.
We can't wait!!!
From Jenn, Stella and myself. May you be blessed with health, happiness, good food, friends and family!
It required a number of takes.
Despite her expression, Stella was not displeased.
Well, I'm a bit late on this since I've been overloaded with work after coming back, but damn if we didn't enjoy our little Hawaiian vacation. We flew first class both ways although on the way back, we didn't even ask for it. Got bumped up, we did. Perk of flying with my little Premier Executive.
We stayed at the Mariott in Wailea on Maui. Very very nice. In fact a little too nice for my tastes. I think I'm more the rented condo on the beach type of guy... Roughing it, if you will.
While I was there I bought a new hat that will come in handy on my next vacation.
Yes. It was pretty. Here's just a shot I grabbed randomly. Can't hardly point a camera in any random direction without getting something just as good...
I finished a book I've been working on for six months (which all of you Americans should read). Bravely fought and slayed a large number of frozen banana drinks (with decorative umbrella and pineapple slice!) and spent a wonderful relaxing vacation with my sweetie.
Yay team! More pictures here. Go comment on them. Jenn likes that....
To the right is a picture of Jen and I with my dad and his wife at Lundi Gras (Fat Monday for you monoliguists). Looking at this picture reminds me that I need to stop slumping down to everyone else's level in the picture. It always makes me look fat(ter than I am).
Yeah so ummm. Pictures! Comet! Wizzy! Nice job all!
