I had a client meeting this morning and it was supposed to utilize WebEx. Please permit me to count the ways in which WebEx blows.
- Their installer is an HQX file. HQX files haven't been used since the days of OS 9 (i.e in over 5 years). Today, it's tar/gz, zip or disk image. I had to download Stuffit (which, I might add DOES come in a disk image) just to uncompress the damn installer. Welcome to the decade, you backwards ass bastards.
- After spending 15 minutes installing, searching, uninstalling and repeating, I couldn't find the actual installed application. Their OS 9-style Vise installer installs the program in -- get this -- ~/Library/Application Support/WebEx/SOME_RANDOM_NUMBER/. What?!
- There's not a single piece of evidence on their site -- either in their knowledge base, user manual, technical support section -- that indicates they have any clue how clueless they are or that any Mac users have had any problem whatsoever. Way to go, clue-tards...
In short, it's as if when Mac OS X came out, they simply did a search and replace on their site from OS 9 to OS X and called it a day. These no-talent ass clowns have just succeeded in wasting an hour of my time during a client meeting, making me look like an ass. They have also succeeded in making sure that I recommend just about anything else -- including FedEx'ing bar napkins back and forth between one another -- before I ever recommend WebEx for a meeting.
