I'm not a fan of memes. I rarely participate in blog memes anymore and I believe there is a special place in hell for Facebook memes (two rungs up the fiery ladder from MySpace memes). But this meme worked out so marvelously that I'm going to post the Urban Dictionary defintion of my name:

"Karen is the perfect woman. She has no flaw. She's funny, sweet, smart as hell, and above all, she is extremely gorgeous. She doesn't let anyone push her around and she has a great personality. She has some awesome goals set and always wins my heart. Has great taste in guys. Don't listen to what the other jack-off put. Everybody loves Karen. If you were to look up the word "amazing" in the dictionary, there would be a picture of Karen."

And just in case you think this was some kind of fluke, or that I wrote it myself, here is definition number six:

"The most amazing, awesome, cool, incredible, fabulous being in the world. ever (:

there are no examples of karen as she is simply too amazing for comparison. heehee."

The list goes on with many more definitions but the first page totally nails it. And while the first definition is my favorite, number two tells a story I'm a little more familiar with:

"It started off as a blog post and now it's a definition. But Karen is the most wonderful girl around and she is equally as awesome and gorgeous. Karen told me to make this entry..." (bold emphasis mine)

It wasn't actually this Karen that told him to make the entry, but based on the other Karens I've met, it's par for the Karen course. We've been known to be a bit bossy - in the nicest possible way of course - and only for your own good.

Don't bother to read the rest of the definitions. They use words like "devil, biggest jerk, rude, obnoxious, unaware, insensitive, annoying and self-absorbed." I've never even met most of those (friendless, humorless and wart-plagued) people.

All of my life I thought I wanted a nickname, something more interesting than plain ol' Karen, only to discover that, according to my most favorite dictionary ever, my name actually rocks.

Take that American Heritage, you've never had a single nice thing to say about me.

Last night, I refurbished the chair, with help from my friends at Wuttke Werks. It turned out beautifully, but now the desk looks kind of shitty. Dios, mio. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Oh - and I left a voicemail, but the original owner never called me back regarding the treasures - therefore, finder's keepers!
